How to Add "Piano Sparkles" to Chord Progressions 🎹✨

I recently saw a video of the talented pianist Bailey Pickles playing with James Bay, and he described the flourishes he was doing on the piano as "piano sparkles”.

I thought this was THE perfect word!

I loved it so much that I made a piano tutorial that will show you to play some of these sparkles. 

Just watch how they completely transform basic chord progressions into something really impressive.

The main musical concepts I touch on in this piano lesson are:

  • Arpeggiated Rolls
  • Suspended Chords
  • Suspended Flourishes
  • Left Hand 9ths
  • A "Piano Sparkle" Lick
  • Suspended Slash Chords

Depending on your current ability on the piano, some of these examples may be trickier than others, but the concepts still work if you apply them to simpler chord progressions.
